What is your standard hourly rate?

Do you have a minimum budget for a new client?

None at all

Please tell us a bit about your background. How did you get started in design?

Am a web developer and Certified SEO consultant and I have been doing this for 15 years now. I work with both open source and custom solutions. I can easily work with proprietary platforms like Wix or SquareSpace as well as open source platforms like WordPress, Woo Commerce, Magento, Joomla, PrestaShop, etc.

I started this way back after my postgraduate education. After a year of work, the company I was working with decided to restructure and I was not keen on the department they wanted to send me, so I choose to be laid off so I could use the severance pay to start my business and follow my dream!

How long have you been with your company?

I have been a developer going 15 years now.

Are you self taught or did you attend school for your industry?

Attended school earlier on but I have kept on top of the game with self taught skills as technology changes.

What do you see as the most prominent emerging technology?

Vitual technology

Who is your typical client at the moment and what types of projects are you working on?

Each Client has a favourite element they bring. Maybe some more than others, but it is hard to pinpoint on a project level unless we start going to personal relationships.

What advice would you give a client in order to prepare for a new project?

Get as much info as you can about your project. Learn about your business first so you are equipped with the best knowledge on your industry to allow for quick and effective communication. An engaged client is a powerful tool.

What is the most common problem you deal with when working with new clients who do not have much experience with working with designers?

General brief and scope of their needs.
Not properly though project scope
Unrealistic expectations due to above

Do you use a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) or any type of project management or proposal software?
