Please tell us a bit about your background. How did you get started in design?

I ran the marketing department for a division of a Fortune 100 company for years. In 2008 I started my own firm and since then we have partnered with over 3,000 business around the world!

How long have you been with your company?

2015 will mark 7-years in business. We have successfully partnered with over 3,000 business - many of which we still do partner with today. I believe what has helped to make us successful is we treat every business and every project as if it were our own company. We strive for excellence and ensuring our clients are 100% pleased with the work we deliver.

We are not order takers but partners. This means we partner with you to create winning solutions for your business and not just "do as we're told". As a result of this model our clients continue to work with us and refer their colleagues as well.

Are you self taught or did you attend school for your industry?

I have 23- people on my staff. Many of us have formal educations but all of us have received are best teachings from "on-the-job" experiences.

What web browser do you use?

We do all of programming in the web browser FireFox; however, we ensure the website and software developed is operable in all browsers prior to launching it.

What social media do you use for work and play? Do you have a favorite?

As many of you, we use Facebook more than any other social medium on the market today. It's by far the most common medium for communicating with your target audience. We are capable in all social media outlets.

What is your favorite thing about the type of work you do?

I absolutely LOVE creating solutions for my clients. Let's face there are lots of software tools available; however, there's generally a few things that you say "If it could do (fill in the blank) it would be so much better for me/my business". Well one of our specialties is software development.
We create software that works to your EXACT specifications. When the client uses it for the first time and see's its "perfect" -- well that is pure satisfaction for me!

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into the web design field?

This is a field for the creative mind; however, the #1 advice is don't take feedback personal. A lot of what we do is for personal taste. I may love orange but the client likes blue. I don't take it personal if I don't hit a home run the first time out - instead listen to the feedback and apply it to the next revision.

What`s your favorite development language and why?

PhP is our preferred development language; however, we have the ability to code in .net and .asp. I think PhP is preferred only because it's the most widely used in the marketplace today.

What do you see as the most prominent emerging technology?

The most prominent emerging technology are smart apps. Let's face it they'll be here for a while and we have to learn to embrace it. They are used on on our cell phones, tablets, televisions, cars and the list will only continue to grow. "i" is the future.

Who is your typical client at the moment and what types of projects are you working on?

We have three ideal clients at the moment:
1. Realtors - We create websites and custom software for realtors every day. They are ideal for us because we have mastered the elements that are important to making an agent look and feel good about their brand.

2. Medium sized companies - Our niche are companies that have been in business for 7-15 years, growing and making money but their brand and systems operate the same as when they started. They have added band-aids and duct tape to their systems to keep things together and now they're ready for the next stage. AS A MARKETING STRATEGY EXPERT WE CAN HELP YOU UPDATE AND UPGRADE TO YOUR NEXT LEVEL!

3. Companies want a marketing department but don't want the overhead of it - We are a virtual marketing department. I have 23 people on staff with capabilities ranging from design to developers to certified Google analysts to strategists. We are a one-stop-shop.

What advice would you give a client in order to prepare for a new project?

I think the best advice I can give to a client is to choose the right partners. Its not always about price or the company with the best looking proposal but instead the company that will be there for you when problems occur.

Building a website or developing software is like remodeling your home. There is always "something" that pops up unexpectedly and now you have to deal with it. You want a company that will take the bulls by the horn, provide you with options, guide you through the process and make sure you come out on top. When you work with thinkBIG and Realtor Branders you work with me. I own the company and I will make sure the same service I provided to earn your business is the same service I provide to keep it!

What is the most common problem you deal with when working with new clients who do not have much experience with working with designers?

I think the most common problem I deal with when working with new clients who do not have much experience with working with designers is lack of communication. I know it can be difficult but you have to "put me in your head". Talk to me the same way you talk to your best friend. If you're struggling with the right words then find me pictures. I can create anything ... as long as I have an idea of what you want to see.

What is your standard hourly rate?

Do you have a minimum budget for a new client?

There is no "minimum budget". Everything we do is customized to our clients needs. I use $50/hr as a starting point; however, it really depends on the task at hand.
