About Me: Hello, and thank you for considering me for your graphic arts needs. My name is Joe Oesterle and I bring over two decades and a wide range of visual styles and abilities to the table. I've also worked as Creative Director and Art Director at several very well-known companies. I am a former Art Director/ Sr. Editor of the National Lampoon, where I did work in magazines, websites, books, internet, television, radio, albums, gaming and of course movies. I have worked in the apparel industry off and on for close to twenty years, and my knowledge of the entire process is exceptional. I was the Art Director for such brand names as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bum Equipment, Offshore, Team Gear and Ocean Pacific. I have also freelanced for companies like Disney, Warner Brothers, King Features, the NFL, the NBA, Major League Baseball, Marvel Comics, Pacific Sunwear, O'Neil, and Crazy Shirts. My illustrations and designs have been in dozens and dozens of books, and I am also a six-time published author. My most recent books for Barnes and Noble Publishing (aka Sterling Press) are entitled, "Weird California," and "Weird Las Vegas." I do most of the photography myself, and many of my own illustrations. I have ran advertising agencies with as many as 14 full-time artists, and just as many freelance designers, I'm serious about my work, and pride myself on hitting the deadlines. I'm fairly well-known in my field. Feel free to Google me. In short, I?m an award-winning illustrator/designer, a Webby nominated designer, an accomplished author, and a short film I wrote, directed and animated has been shown at the Smithsonian Institution since 2001. My last boss called me a "creative tour de force" and another wrote I was a "one man creative department."
