About Me: R. William is a graphic designer and fine artist working in the media of digital graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc), print, branding, typography, photography, painting, pen and ink and collage. He thinks art should be visually engaging, political, and a commentary on modernity but at the same time accessible and universal in its message. As a way to promote environmental sustainability, R. William often creates graphic design works with dual purposes--a newsletter that doubles as wrapping paper or a CD insert with detachable tour schedule postcard--in order to reduce product consumption and waste. This practice also creates longer interaction by the consumer with the product and promotes and advertises the product outside of normal use. R. William has a Bachelor of Arts in History form a Big Ten University and has post-graduate training in communication design. R. William greatly admires Jan Lukas, Gustav Klutsis, Antonio Sant'Elia, Lee Friedlander, Amedeo Modigliani, Franz Kline, almost the entire school of Pop artists and every participant in the Czech avant-garde.
