DQ News: How To Failproof Your Business, Episode 6: How To Close The Deal

Get Design Bids

First, a defense. When we filmed this? Yes, it really was that cold.

In today’s Failproofing Your Business video, we’re talking about closing. Closing, by the way, means getting people to do the shit you want them to do. It’s a fairly handy little skill in business and in life. A lot of people think that closing is all about sales, specifically something involving cold calls and lead generation.

Those people, tragically, are wrong. Too bad, so sad, they lose.

YOU, on the other hand, do not lose. YOU win because you’re watching this lovely video today. And if you feel you don’t have time for that, you’re remembering our first failproof video where you learned that you have to give your business the time of day or it will give you SWEET FUCK ALL. Just saying.

Moving on.

Things we talk about in this video:

  • How to get over the three crippling fears that are stopping you from getting your people to do whatever you want
  • What ABC does NOT stand for
  • What closing is – and what it isn’t
  • How to close when you’re terrified of sales (hint: think closure instead of closing)
  • My open plea to Alaskans to tell me exactly what their problem is.

In other news, the charming and handsome Dave Navarro has heard your kindly worded requests and created a payment plan for those of you who spent too much money on eggnog and not enough on TAX DEDUCTIBLE BUSINESS TRAINING. (Also? To answer the question everyone is afraid to ask, yes. I can confirm that I HAVE BROKEN UP WITH BOLD AND HAVE RUN AWAY WITH MY CAPS LOCK KEY. My affair with italics is clearly still going strong after 20 years.)

If you’re into paying in three chunks of $99, the technology is there. Or if you want to write off the whole damn thing in this tax year, you can pay the lot now. (You can always use that Visa you don’t tell your spouse about. You thought nobody knew about that, didn’t you?)

Now. Watch. Then tweet and Facebook this stuff. Don’t you like your friends? They deserve to see me in my adorable parka.

See? I told you it was adorable.
