DQ News: Subscription service offers monthly surprise gift in the mail

Get Design Bids

It’s been a while since we shared with you the last letterbox-related inspiration, a postcard that unfolds into a mini herb garden. Now Art Director and entrepreneur Ned Corbett-Winder has created NOTANOTHERBILL, aiming to surprise and delight consumers with surprise presents by mail every month.

Sparked by a conversation with a colleague complaining that he never received any exciting post, the concept aims to send subscribers a different quirky gift at the start of each month. A lover of art and fashion, Ned sources presents from markets, vintage fairs and also collaborates with designers and illustrators to ensure gifts are unique and can’t be bought elsewhere. If the subscription is for someone else, users select “who” and “where they’d most likely be found” from a drop-down list, and can choose to subscribe for one month to one year. Subscription costs GBP 15 a month with overseas delivery possible at a higher price. Previous presents include necklaces made from vintage trinkets by Emma Norman, stationery-filled goodie bags by graphic design shop Present & Correct, and the recently featured Allotinabox. All presents come with a letter explaining why and how they were sourced, and if the recipient genuinely doesn’t like what they’re sent they can return it for something else.

Ned is on the look out for designers, brands and products to be the next monthly gift. Perhaps you have an idea that would be perfect?
