DQ News: Collars2Switch Dog Collars

I recently had an opportunity to ask a few questions of Linda from Collars2Switch one of the contestants in Walmart’s Get on the Shelf contest.

What product did you submit to the contest?

The Collars2switch dog collars with switchable designs. You can peel off one, put on another without removing the collar and tags from your dog.

Where’d the idea come from?

I came up with it as I talked with some friends one day.

What’s your day job?

Preschool teacher

What difficulties did you have creating the product?

It was really pretty simple, there was testing to see what the best materials would be. I sew and this was something I could make myself.

Have you sold any?

We have been in business for about a year and a half, yes, we have sold some.

Do you have any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Do a lot of reading/research and tap into the talents of people you know. Also, have a lot of patience!
